A Comfort for Caring

Ever since I was a child, I have felt comfortable being around individuals with disabilities. I grew up with an aunt who has Cerebral Palsy, and it has always been natural to help her in a variety of ways. God revealed my true skills and called me toward serving at Shepherds College.

Steps to the Savior

What I hope for with all of the students that come through Shepherds College is that they all come to know the Lord Jesus as their Savior. I pray that they are able to mature in the area of emotions, spiritual growth, and gain the skills to be able to take care of themselves on their own. I also hope they develop a sense of community life and confidence here.

Our Response to the Struggle

An inspirational quote I try to live by is one I heard years ago from a radio preacher out of Indiana. He used to sign off his program by saying something like this, "Be sweet and nice and kind to everyone; everybody's having a hard time." That resonated with me as we may never know why some people come across as rude or mean to us. Perhaps they are struggling, as we all are, with something in life and Jesus may be calling you to be His heart for them.
